Anirudh Dhannayak is a documentary and fine art photographer, currently pursuing Master of Fine arts degree in Photography at the Savannah College of Art and Design in Atlanta, USA. Raised in India, he completed his Bachelor’s degree in Communication Media, specializing in Photography, before dedicating himself to a life behind the lens.

His practice is deeply shaped by his extensive travels across India journeys made with little more than a camera and the desire to understand people. He traveled widely to document cultural festivals, daily rituals, and the emotions that connect individuals to their roots. These early experiences offered him a profound understanding of human nature and formed the foundation of his approach to visual storytelling.

Anirudh’s work spans multiple genres, including Street, photojournalism, Editorial, lifestyle, and fine art photography, yet documentary storytelling remains the heart of his practice. He is drawn to specific, detailed narratives that reveal how culture, identity, and tradition shift and survive across generations and geographies.

For him, photography is an act of connection a way to listen, observe, and honor the lived experiences of communities. He blends documentary realism with fine-art sensibilities, focusing on gestures, atmosphere, and the quiet moments that hold cultural meaning. His images explore the resilience of cultural practices, the impact of migration, and the intimate human stories embedded within daily life.

As he continues to grow as an artist, Anirudh remains committed to creating meaningful, impactful narratives stories that not only document but resonate, building bridges between past and present, community and viewer, tradition and transformation.
